A universal story of a child trying to make his way in a difficult world! He meets a magical cat and as they journey along, the child discovers his self-worth by helping those who are less fortunate than he is. The child - at great peril - rescues the inhabitants of the sinister Island of Good-For-Nothing fromthe evil power that holds them in thrall. The musical makes its point with humor, wit and a touch of the marvelous. Each song is written in the style of a different American composer, Joplin, Porter, Gerschwin, Bernstein and Sondheim.
