There are many expectations and goals that we have in mind for this production,
and what youth theatre should incorporate. We thought we would just take some
time and share them: This show should allow the children to learn about all
aspects of theatre – acting, technology, design, business, and art through a
multitude of media. This show is specifically designed for children. The script
has been made shorter and the songs transposed into keys more comfortable for
youthful ranges. That being said, the show will be cast as a CHILDREN’S SHOW. No
one older than the agreed ages will be allowed. All aspects of the show will
have youth involvement. This show will not only be a good introduction to
theatre, but will help prepare those involved for future shows and to help youth
learn to take more responsibility. While the primary goal of this experience is
to put on a quality production, the education of those involved will not be
sacrificed for the finished product. Like all shows, it takes support on all
sides to create it – parents, cast, crew, directors, and the theatre will all
need to cooperate. Let’s have some fun, eh?
