Rumors by Neil Simon is a convoluted plot involving four couples who gather to celebrate a tenth wedding anniversary of their best friends. When the first couple arrives, they find Charley in an upstairs bedroom, bleeding from a gunshot wound to the ear lobe, and his wife Myra is nowhere to be found. The first couple conspires unsuccessfully to conceal the mystery from the other couples and as each couple arrives, the hilarity and nonsense escalate and the situation gets progressively more difficult to sustain when nobody can remember who has been told what about whom.
