Welcome to the Engle Lane website.  We invite you to regulary use this site to stay informed on every production and special event that is happening at our community theatre.  You'll find useful information about our box office and ticket policies as well as applications for future directors, our annual scholarship program, and how you can join us as a volunteer.

We will also keep you informed of relevant news and current events that involves our organization, and we invite you to take a trip down memory lane by reviewing the list of every production we've done and the volunteers who helped make them happen.

We got our start in the summer of 1958 because a small group of theatre-enthusiasts dreamed to "put on a play."  Thanks to hundreds of passionate volunteers enduring thousands of tireless hours, that original dream became a remarkable reality, called Engle Lane Theatre.  Yes, we've faced our fair share of hardships and setbacks over the past half century.  We even weathered a devastating tornado in 2010.

But, through it all, we remained committed to our original dream, and we now proudly call our home the William C. Schiffbauer Center for the Performing Arts at Engle Lane Theatre.  It's where we not only "put on a play," but where we help promote and support the arts for the entire Illinois Valley.  Thanks for sharing our dream!!

Get in the Act!

Every show needs its share of volunteers to act as stage crew. We also need volunteer ushers for our performances. Their enthusiasm help us set the tone for the performance. They meet and greet arriving patrons, seat those unfamiliar with our house, and hand out programs. Have fun, meet new people, make new friends by joining our theatre family at Engle Lane.
